We have already learned a few idioms relating to eyes. Here is another one for you. See eye to eye. Do you use this phrase when you look deep into someone's eyes? Is the yoga class over already?I left a little early. Why?  The instructor and I didn't see eye to eye. You had a fight with your yoga teacher?  Look Jonathan, I practice yoga my own way. The instructor asked you to leave, didn't she?  People who have similar opinions or ways of thinking "see eye to eye."  If you say you " see eye to eye" with someone, you agree with them.  This expression has been used since ancient times.

We have already learned the expression "tiptoe around something," which means to avoid directly expressing something. Keep you on your toes. Does this idiom have a similar meaning? How do you like your new Arabic class?  Oh, it's tough! The teacher gives us so many unexprected tests. Wow, your class sounds tough! Yeah, but it keeps you on your toes.  You have to be prepared for each and every class. If something "keeps you on your toes,"  it keeps you alert, aware and ready to act.  A person can begin to run or jump more quickly and easily if their weight is on their toes. That is where this expression comes form.
